The Good and Bad Shipping Companies

Ships bearing goods worth billions should be worthy to carry them. The transport ships and the companies holding them should be aware of the huge responsibility that rests on them. International trade would have never existed if it weren’t for the transport ships that carry all the goods through the oceans to the dry land. As we all know that air transport is not only limited, but it is a hell lot expensive too. Sending a package through air cargo easily exceeds the original price of the product. That is why it is not good for business but can be used only for the emergency deliveries.

Unfortunately the negligence shown towards the condition of ships by the shipping companies is sending customers wailing at their losses. Consider the condition of a customer who is shipping a set of complete office supplies that are soaking wet when received. It is not his duty to provide protective packing for it rather than it is the duty of the shipping company to ensure that the goods they carry remain safe. The easiest way to check for leaks is the hatch cover ultrasonic tightness testing. But unfortunately the shipping companies do not pay much attention to the condition of the ship and are more focused on making more voyages.

A voyage means that profits will be coming in, the more goods they carry the bigger will be the invoice. In the race to make more voyages than others, the ships are often seen in bad conditions. Most of the ships are in battered condition but they are still seen sailing on the routes. A lot of shipping companies are not as unmanaged as described here. They focus on quality as well and the care of their ships can be seen by the appearance. A neat and clean ship means that the condition is awesome and the goods in its cargo holds are undoubtedly safe. Most of the time ships encounter a sea storm or a rain when out on a voyage. If the hatch covers are leaking, it is a fact that water will be entering them.

It is emphasized to keep checking the tightness of hatch with ultrasound on a regular basis. When ships are checked regularly, every minute hole is removed and it makes the ship leak free. A leak free ship means that the goods it is carrying will be docked in exactly the same condition they are loaded. Fault free goods will not only make the customers happy, but it will increase the reputation of the shipping company too which is best for long term business.
